Our Version of Jack and Jill

With this song our aim was to demonstrate a change of rhythm while maintaining the same beat. “Jack and Jill” is usually sung as a polka but the second time around we sing it as a jig. Polkas and jigs are played regularly in Irish music.

Lyrics for Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after

Up Jack got and home did trot
As fast as he could caper
He went to bed and covered his head
In vinegar and brown paper
